Of course it was not on the clock at my computer repair Las Vegas gig but I am able to talk my tools, both software and hardware with my home each night so I can help my friends. He had picked up a PC for $25 at a yard sale and to be honest he got a great deal. For his needs, rather simple ones, this computer will be perfect. The main thing he needs to do is pear down the services that windows XP has running and he definitely needed some guidance with that.

First we wiped his hard drive and reinstalled windows. Otherwise we may have spent a long time dealing with the last owners problems or at the least the things that he or she had created that had nothing to do with my friend. If he had to call computer repair Las Vegas to do this job it could have easily been a several hundred dollar home computer repair job to first wipe the hard drive and then reinstall the operating system and all the drivers and the software and any added services that could have been tacked on but as it was it was a fairly simple operation of the operating system and then the software that he needed. He was very glad I had the knowledge and experience from computer repair Las Vegas to help him out or otherwise he may have been better off buying himself a new computer.

That is what most people do. They will end up getting frustrated and going to the store and solving the problem by throwing money at it and then people like my friend and I will swoop in behind them and buy their old computer and use my experience from computer repair Las Vegas and benefit all around.

Computer Repair Las Vegas Tip #1 – Check Msconfig & Profile

The Computer Repair Las Vegas Tech Guy offers two more tips today to help you find your problem before you have to call me the Computer Repair Las Vegas Tech Guy. First check msconfig to determine if any startup application is to blame, open the System Configuration utility to turn off all startup programs. When it is open find the start up and then remove all the startup items. Once this is done you can restart your computer. If your computer issue stops then go back to Msconfig and enable your autostart items one at a time until the issue resurfaces and then you know what your problem is and you can look into fixing the problem. There is a word to the wise here from the Computer Repair Las Vegas Tech Guy as this is a pretty advanced way of trouble shooting and it is easy to get lost so be careful. Otherwise you may be calling me yourself. One other thing you can do is to go into another profine as sometimes a profile becomes corrupt and will not work any longer log out of your current account and log into a different one. If the problem doesn't occur in the other account, something is wrong with your profile in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER section of the Registry. Computer Repair Las Vegas Tech Guy will give this last tip a 5 star rating as far as potential for messing something up. The Registry is a touchy part of the operating system and if damaged it may be necessary to reinstall windows so be very very careful. Even with the knowledge and experience of the Computer Repair Las Vegas Tech Guy on two different occasions I have had to reinstall windows.

Safe Mode and Boot Logging… What?

Here are a couple of tips from your Computer Repair Las Vegas Tech Guy that some of you may not have known and may help you when the times come for you to need a outside service. Open in Safe Mode. You can try to go into safe mode through the Windows Advanced Options Menu. Unlike Last Known Good Configuration, Safe Mode will not fix a thing but it will attempts to start Windows by using a basic set of drivers. If you can successfully the computer in Safe Mode, then you may be able to make some changes in your computer and fix your problem with out Computer Repair Las Vegas Tech Guy. You can also use Safe Mode to correct the problem — once you figure out what it is. Another quick tip from your Computer Repair Las Vegas Tech Guy is to check Windows' boot logs for information if you suspect the problem is related to a particular device or driver. Open the Windows Advanced Options Menu. Arrow down to Enable Boot Logging and press Enter to start Windows with this feature turned on. The boot log adds new information to the bottom of the file, so scroll down to get the latest scoop. Look for lines that indicate one or more drivers didn't load properly. Boot logging occurs automatically when you use Safe Mode to log into windows, but the resulting log isn't very useful — it shows all the drivers Safe Mode doesn't use, but it doesn't tell you which ones may be causing the problems. Check back real soon for more. That's all from the Computer Repair Las Vegas Tech Guy today.

Top 5 Ways Computer Repair Las Vegas Recommends to Speed Your Computer

In our work at Computer Repair Las Vegas we run across a lot of people that have severely neglected their computer for years. Although these users can be taught everything we do at Computer Repair Las Vegas many do not have the time or inclination to do so. To help bridge the gap between the real need for major outside services and the occasional tune up we have special packages just for that to clean and speed up your computer.

There are actually a lot you can do yourself to boost your PCs performance but we are going to talk about the basics today.

1. Free Up Disk Space - One of the best ways to make your computer run faster is to free up some disk space. This helps you free up space on your hard disk. The utilities used identify files that you can safely delete without messing anything up, and then enables you to choose whether you want to delete some or all of the identified files. At Computer Repair Las Vegas the primary objective is to clean your computer up and make sure other parts are running properly from there.

2. Arrange Files in Useful Order - When you add a file or a new program to a new computer, the hard drive is relatively empty so new data is saved to the hard drive in one whole block. When you need to use that information, the computer can quickly access it because it is all in one place. Over time when the computer writes a file back to the hard drive it does not put it in order so the need to arrange these files becomes necessary. There are many programs on the market to do this sort of thing but some are better than others. At Computer Repair Las Vegas we use the very best.

3. Get Rid of Spyware - Spyware is software that does bad things by design; Usually, it gets installed without your consent. A lot of times takes advantage of the fact that many people go ahead and click "I Agree" to licenses agreements without reading them. The only method to get rid of this sort of spyware is to have a kind of scanner, sort of like an anti-virus. This is another of the services we offer at Computer Repair Las Vegas and most any service company would do the same. It can be sort of tricky, as a lot of the spyware scanners out there are of themselves malicious and will actually put the viruses and spyware into your computer in order to create a problem to solve.

4. Find and Repair Disk Errors - Another problem that needs to be watched out for and remedied is disk errors. From time to time and as your computer, or more specifically your hard drive, gets older you may encounter errors that need to be fixed. There are ways to scan that disk and fix those errors but many people do not feel comfortable doing this sort of thing as they imagine actually tinkering with the hardware of the drive itself. Computer Repair Las Vegas knows exactly what to do to make sure your data is safe and you drive is fixed. Most repair companies are competent to do the same as there is very little risk involved.
5. Go Buy a External Hard Drive The addition of a external hard drive to your computer will let you to clean out many things that shouldn’t be on your main hard drive. Because pictures and music files are not accessed a lot and they can take a lot of space they are the perfect candidate for moving to a external hard drive. Those pictures and songs are just clogging up you system by getting in the way of programs that you need everyday. Obviously there are many other kinds of files that would be better stored on an external hard drive too.

Most repair companies like Computer Repair Las Vegas offer an option to obtain additional hardware and they can install it for you too. The installation is a service we provide for our customers free of charge. If you purchase it from us, we will install it free. Just another way that Computer Repair Las Vegas tries to excel in what we do.

Computer Repair Las Vegas on Computer Virus Cheaters

Part of my job working for the company we will call Computer Repair Las Vegas is to sort out the mess left behind by Spyware, Trojans, Adware, Malware, Grayware and viruses but sometimes the way that sort of thing gets into the computer is through the use of a antivirus software. When I first started Computer Repair Las Vegas way back when you were only a young grasshopper, I had to teach many computer repair people that worked for me about this. The actual software that people use to fix their computer problem creates one. My guess is that the software maker does this so that it can try to fix it but sometimes the combination of computer issues make it even worse and computer owners end up calling me at Computer Repair Las Vegas to do a home computer service call. We will sweep in like heroes in our red capes and save the day. We don’t really have red capes but we do have red tool boxes that we carry with the name Computer Repair Las Vegas emblazoned on the outside so people will know who this strange person that is coming to their door is. At least if they take the time to look. It is amazing to me that people will actually make an appointment with us and then are surprised when we show up. Their house will be in various states of disarray and so will they… but I digress.

Back to our story. It will probably get to the point where the government will need to step in with some stiff penalties for the perpetrators of this minas although that will certainly hurt the business of my precious Computer Repair Las Vegas. Cant say it will be a happy day for me as it surely will put a dent in my business. Fully 22% of the calls we get are for virus related problems and in as many as 84% of the calls we go on have one or more virus on the computer. Computer Repair Las Vegas is dedicated to eliminating this problem but the revenues would surely slow down if it were really illegal to spread a virus but that is ok,. We would just have to do what every other company does when business turns down. We will adjust our computer company so it fits the internet/computer needs of our community. Lesson in this post is to be very careful with what you install and make sure it is what it represents. In this case Computer Repair Las Vegas is warning the buyer of software to beware.

Computer Repair Las Vegas gives Password Advise

At my company Computer Repair Las Vegas I often run across problems with people that have forgot their passwords and there are a couple of ways to solve the problem. You can try to crack the password or you can reinstall the program. If you don't know how to do those things then you have no choice but to call a company. Calling a company like mine would be the easiest although not necessarily the cheapest solution.

A company like ours are going to come out and do one of the two things listed above. That is all they can do because computer repair Las Vegas does not do computer majic just the normal stuff like find passwords and reset them or reinstall the program to overwrite the password. Pretty simple really, but not things that the normal computer owner would know. Companies that are in the business to do this often do what seems like a computer miracle when it comes to the hardware and software you use but you can to call them and get them to come out to the house so they can repair the problem. What a pain.

I would rather remember the passwords as to having to call Computer Repair Las Vegas and have them come out and make a home visit on the spot and having to pay all that money to have the visit.

My suggestion if you do not want to have to call us or someone like us is to write down your passwords in a safe place and make some kind of association that no one else will know and then you can avoid having to call one of those expensive companies.

Good luck and if you do have a problem and have to loose all your data at least you will know that you can start over building up the information you had so there is a good reason to do backups if ever there was one but really if you want to avoid calling Computer Repair Las Vegas company just stay on top of you computter passwords.

Computer Repair Las Vegas Saves the Day

A Computer Repair Las Vegas company saved my arse one day recently when I was in the middle of crunch time. Ever get tired of waiting for five minutes for your computer to finish starting after you push the power button or maybe you are just opening an application. You really have a couple of choices. One is you can to try to fix it your self and secondly you could find a computer repair Las Vegas service. I’ll just be generic and call the company I use in this article “Computer Repair Las Vegas” instead of naming the name of the company

I really don’t know how to fix these computers but I am thankful there are there are companies like Computer Repair Las Vegas that I can call on and I would encourage you to find one if you really need one to fix your computer.

I recently found a in home computer repair service when I was driving down the road but that is probably not the best way to locate a service. I called them out to the house to do some crisis maintenance on my PC and although it was a little on the expensive side, I found that Computer Repair Las Vegas (not the real name of the repair service), was for me the best way to go.

I didn’t have to do a thing. They took care of my problems and I just wrote a check and isn’t that the way it is supposed to be? Locate the home computer repair service, call them or email them and then schedule a time for them to work on my computer. They show up and they fix the problem. End of story and end of my hardware and software issues

When I first started to look for mobile computer repairI was in a world of trouble. I was writing a article for publication on the computer repair industry in general and specifically I was interviewing a big time CEO of a big time computer company then all of the sudden my computer decides to take a crash. Well, not really a crash but it was working so slow you would think it needed to be totally rebuilt.

Then as luck would have it I was driving home from the interview and I saw the Computer Repair Las Vegas service mobile van and my problems were solved.

Computer Repair Las Vegas Hello World Post

This is where the hello world post is supposed to be but this blog is all about computer repair Las Vegas (or anywhere else for that matter) but my focus is on computer repair Las Vegas cause that is where I live and I try to take care of my own computer but sometimes I have to go elsewhere to know what to do and I thought wouldn’t it be a good karmic thing for me to share a little (that’s all there is… a little) of my knowledge even though I don’t know much.
